Welcome to my website - I'm Patrick Mathern.  I'm neither a writer nor do I play one on tv.  My education background has nothing to do with journalism and I don't know what being a communications major even means.  My professional experience is in business - finance and marketing to be exact - but I recently completed a trip to Latin America that woke an interest in writing...I just don't know what that means yet.  So, I want YOU to tell ME.     I've found that I'm most successful in writing about my own personal experience.  I live in Seattle and I love to travel - the more remote, the better.  No plumbing?  No problem.  I've written stories on being chased in a canoe by Costa Rican crocodiles, getting sprayed with pesticides in Panama, and wading through waste in Wyoming.     If you're interested in reading some of my work, check out the link to my blog above.  I'd love to hear your thoughts - drop me an email at patrickmathern@hotmail.com and let me know what's on your mind.
